Robin Smith, Las Vegas Builder Trade In

by Builder Trade In Program Sep 17, 2019

The population in the northwest region of Las Vegas is up 12 percent from 2014 until 2018.  Housing units are 10 percent higher in the same time period and in 2018 business permits were up 15 percent.  This trend has no signs of stopping.

There has been growth in Skye Canyon, a master-planned community in the northwest as well as other communities in the area.  These areas are very near Lee Canyon, at one time called the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort, and the Retreat on Charleston Peak (formerly the Resort on Mount Charleston).

The population growth near these areas has encouraged major renovations for the lodge and ski resort.  By the end of 2019, just in time for skiing and snowboarding, Lee Canyon will open Hillside Lodge, a 10,000 square-foot facility.  This is the largest undertaking since 1963.

The new day lodge will include a heated outdoor terrace, a ski in and out bar, coffee shop, improved dining area and space for meetings, special events and even weddings.  There is a plan under review by the U.S. Forest Service for the addition of mountain biking trails.

If you and your family lead an outdoor lifestyle the master-planned community of Skye Canyon might be ideal for you.  The community first opened in 2015 and by 2017 it was nationally ranked for home sales at number 50 and by 2018 jumped to number 21 for homes sales.

Skye Canyon offers plenty of world-class amenities. Skye Canyon Park is a 15-acre gathering place, and the hub of community activity. Here you’ll find Skye Center and Skye Fitness. Add in Eagle Canyon Park and an extensive system of trails and dedicated bike lanes, and you can stretch your experiences even farther into nearby open spaces. There’s also an ongoing calendar of community events, recreational activities and social gatherings so you’ll always have something to look forward to.

Century Communities, Pulte Homes and Woodside Homes have neighborhoods in Skye Canyon, and all are builder partners with the Nevada Builder Trade-In Program, operated by the Smith Team.  If you own an existing home in the Las Vegas Valley and are looking for a newly built home contact us.
